Frantisek Wagner scored after just 46 seconds to make it 1:0 against Schongau, but that was the end of the hosts' momentum for the time being, as Schongau then piled on the pressure and had several good opportunities to equalise.

Instead, Stauder scored to make it 2:0 for Landsberg after a fine assist from Grözinger; after that, the almost 900 spectators were treated to an open exchange of blows in which both teams gave each other nothing. After goals from Mosler and Hegner in the final phase, the Riverkings retained the upper hand with 4:1.

The game in Amberg was even closer. After the home team took the lead, Landsberg initially turned the game around with goals from Grözinger and Heß, before conceding a 2:2 equaliser while double short-handed. It was then up to Florian Reicheneder to make it 3:2 for the Riverkings in the powerplay, which they ultimately managed to hold on to despite furious attacks from the home side.

Thanks to the two wins, HC Landsberg are currently in fifth place with 19 points.

A difficult game was expected for Landsberg's renowned offense; after all, Pipinsried, which had been relegated to the Regionalliga, had only conceded ten goals in the entire season. But after just over four minutes, Cekic put Landsberg up 1:0.

After the equalizer for Pipinsried (12th), it was once again the hour of "goal machine" Nico Karger. With two goals before and one shortly after the break, he practically decided the game. Subsequently, Steffen Krautschneider also scored to make it 5:1. Karger (14) and Krautschneider (11) thus lead the scoring charts in the Bayernliga Süd.

In the standings, TSV Landsberg is in first place with 37 points, ahead of Schwaben Augsburg (33) and Heimstetten (32).

Two good acquaintances are the latest new signings of HC Landsberg for the 2023/24 season: Stephan Sailer (20) and Nico Miedl (19) come from the own junior team, have been active in the U20 DNL team so far, but have also helped out in the men's Oberliga. Last season, Miedl contributed 20 points in 23 games to the success of the youth team. Both young players occupy a defender position.

"We are looking forward to working with Stephan and Nico together," said Vice President Michael Grundei. "Our goal is always to bring out good players from our own youth and to integrate them into the first team. Both have already shown that one can rely on them and are top motivated.

The narrow victory was enough to jump to the top, because Kottern's winning streak surprisingly snapped at 0:3 in Deisenhofen.

In front of more than 1400 spectators in Erlbach, Landsberg initially had a hard time with the very defensive hosts. After the break, however, Landsberg gained the upper hand and Cekik scored the decisive goal in the 64th minute after a brilliantly played counter-attack. In the final phase, they failed to increase their lead on several counterattacks, but the victory was no longer in danger.

Strong weekend for HCL with five points

HC Landsberg rewarded themselves for two strong performances: The 6:5 n.V. in Höchstadt was followed by a 5:3 home win against Memmingen and with these five points they remain in the race for the Pre-Play-Offs.

Mainly the points at the third-placed team in Höchstadt were not necessarily to be expected. In a hard-fought and exciting game, the lead changed back and forth several times. Shortly before the end of regulation time, Lavallee seemed to have put the Riverkings on the winning track with a goal to 4:5, but Höchstadt managed to equalise 5:5 seconds before the end. In overtime, Walker Sommer scored for Landsberg to make it 6-5 and bring home two points.

There, the game against Memmingen two days later did not start well for the hosts. In the derby in front of a good 1200 spectators, the Allgäu team took a 1:0 lead after only 52 seconds. However, with a lot of physical effort and fighting spirit, Landsberg managed to turn the game around. Sommer, Wagner and Gäbelein made it 3:1 in the meantime and the team did not let go of the game. In the final minute, it was Walker Sommer again who scored into the empty Memmingen goal for the final score.

This means that 10th place, which was the goal of the season, is still within reach.

Goals for the Riverkings in Höchstadt: Lavallee (2), Sommer (2), Wagner, Reuter.
