Xavi Forés and Max Neukirchner achieved clear double wins in both races and saw the checkered flag ahead of the reigning champion Markus Reiterberger (BMW).

On top, the reigning Spanish Superbike-Champion Xavi Forés made a fantastic 1.38,304 sec. lap - by far the fastest lap time - in his first Superbike race in Germany and established a new track record for the Lausitzring.

For the 3C-Racing Team, this sensational triumph at the beginning of the season crowned the weeks and months of hard preparation.

The perfect teamwork with the partners Ducati Corse, Pirelli and Öhlins apparently let mature the 2014 vintage Panigale R into a Superbike capable of winning at any time. Therefore, the 3C-Racing Team is looking forward to the upcoming challenges with eagerness and confidence.
Successful practice in Jerez for the 3C-Racing Team
The 3C-Racing Team tested this week together with Ducati in Jerez (Spain). The Ducati MotoGP, WSBK and IDM team shared the track during this exclusive, private practice session with the superbike works teams from Aprilia, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki.

The team was able to work out a good basis setup right from day one and make great progress compared to Almería. Both drivers turned in phenomenal times on standard Pirelli tyres, confidently reaching positions in the middle of the elite WSBK field.

Max Neukirchner even broke the Ducati works ensemble record on Tuesday with an amazing time of 1:41.449 and reached second place in the unofficial time list. He thereby slashed almost two seconds off his Jerez qualifying time of last year (on a WSBK bike, mind you). Xavi Forés also turned in a strong performance with a time of 1:42.083 and he was particularly impressed by the Pirelli tyres.

In particular, the development and selection of the new generation of tyres for the season 2014 was the main priority at the first test of the season. The two pilots completed an extensive programme in the intensive two-day test. The results of the test are very important both for the team as well as for Pirelli and form a good basis for a successful start to the season in early May.
In addition to tyre development, some additional function checking and chassis adjustments as well as electronic tuning were on the programme.

The contract between Dario Giuseppetti and the 3C-Racing Team will also be prolonged for 2014. He will ride a 3C-Racing Team Ducati Superbike as part of a special testing program as soon as his health conditions will allow him to do so.
A successful weekend in Lausitz

After a rain-soaked Friday, the first qualifier on Saturday also took place in wet conditions. Therefore, for both the drivers (Ivan Goi had never driven on Eurospeedway Lausitz; Matteo Baiocco, not since 2006) it was a real challenge to plan a reasonable strategy and select an appropriate line on the track for the known difficult road holding conditions.

It was not until the second qualifier on Saturday that conditions were starting to dry. Although the first session was completed by both the drivers on slick tyres, they should be able to achieve a good result on the Sunday of the race from starting positions 11 (Baiocco) and 12 (Goi).

In both races on Sunday, the drivers were able to match the times of the leading group’s Markus Reiterberger (BMW) without any problems and improved with every lap in what were now finally sunny and dry conditions. Unfortunately, the starting position prevented the drivers from being able to join the leading group in the first rounds.

The 6th (Goi) and 8th (Baiocco) positions in the first races as well as 6 (Baiocco) and 7 (Goi) in the second races, are therefore a really excellent result.

In this regard, Ivan Goi and Matteo Baiocco wish to thank the 3C-Racing Team once again for their marvellous support and cooperation on the weekend.
