With an impressive performance, HC Landsberg secured its place in the play-offs of the Ice Hockey Bayernliga. The 6:3 win against Ulm and the 6:0 win in Pfaffenhofen even mean home advantage in the first round against EHC Klostersee.
The Riverkings didn't let anything slip in the last two games of the regular season. In their home game against the Devils from Ulm, they initially struggled to get going in front of over 1,300 spectators, with the score remaining 2-2 until the middle of the second period. But then Victor Östling put on his very own show. On his 30th birthday, the Swede playing for Landsberg contributed a total of four goals to the ultimately clear 6-3 victory.
In Pfaffenhofen, Mika Reuter then had his run. After Callaghan and Voit had put Landsberg in the lead, Reuter single-handedly scored the remaining four goals to secure a 6-0 away win.
With these two victories, HCL not only secured direct entry into the play-offs, but also home advantage in the first (and possibly decisive seventh) game. Their opponents in the quarter-finals are EHC Klostersee, who moved up to fifth place with a last-minute winning goal after being behind 2:6 in Schongau.
